Tutorial for MacBook Pro and iPhone Unlock using Apple Watch.
Pre requisite for MacBook and iPhone Unlock using apple watch.
1) IPhone shall have iOS 14.5 or higher version. As on date beta version is available but in few days stable version will be upgraded.
2) Apple watch shall have Watch OS 7.4 or higher version.
3) Apple Watch is on and unlocked.
4) Apple Watch is on your wrist.
5) Apple watch has password.
6) You shall be in iPhone vicinity range.
7) Wi-Fi and Bluetooth shall be on.
Setup iPhone unlocking using Apple Watch.
Go to setting / Face ID and PassCode / Turn on option UNLOCK WITH APPLE WATCH. It will show the apple watch associated with iPhone.
When you try to unlock iPhone with face covered with mask. It will not ask passcode. But it will send unlock notification on apple watch as below.
“Your iPhone name UNLOCKED BY THIS APPLE WATCH”.
Tap on it will unlock iPhone or just press side button to lock iPhone.
Setup MacBook Pro Unlock Using Apple Watch.
To check whether MacBook Pro support unlock by Apple Watch. Go to MacBook Pro / Network / Wi-Fi. You will see many options, Find option AUTO UNLOCK and if it is written SUPPORTED. You can use Apple watch to Unlock MacBook Pro.
Go to System
Preferences / Security and Privacy / General / Select USE YOUR APPLE WATCH TO UNLOCK APPS AND MAC COMPUTER. Turn on
Bluetooth and WI-Fi.
